Welive in a world full of competition, part of which includes examinations.Unfortunately, our fate and future are determined by it. We need to pass theCollege Entrance Exam to enter university; excel in interviews to obtain a job;pass the driving test to acquire a driver’s license. Examinations take place ineveryday life of common people; hence we have got too accustomed to it torealize its negative side.

我們生活在一個(gè)充滿競(jìng)爭(zhēng)的世界里，其中一部分包括考試。不幸的是，我們的未來(lái)被它決定著。我們需要通過(guò)高考進(jìn)入大學(xué)；通過(guò)面試貨的工作；通過(guò)車試獲得駕照�？荚嚧嬖谟诿總�(gè)人的生活中，因此我們得意識(shí)到它的負(fù)面性。

Thefacts speak for themselves that examinations have become a yardstick of successand failure in today’s society. Its efficiency of measurement may explain partof its popularity, but does it truly reflect a person’s ability and aptitude?

事實(shí)不言自明，在當(dāng)今社會(huì)考試成為了測(cè)量成功與失敗的標(biāo)準(zhǔn)。也許正因?yàn)檫@樣才如此的流行，但是這真的能夠測(cè)出一個(gè)人的能力和天賦么？

Itis vital to make such a fact clear that examinations cannot test what we know,but what we remember. A student with a good memory may find it very effectiveto cram all the knowledge into mind before examinations. In this sense, it is veryunfair for the students who work hard all the time. Since no one performs athis best all the time, examinees are no exceptions. Some unexpected accidentshappened to them like a sudden headache will affect the outcome, thus fail thestudent.

至關(guān)重要的是，事實(shí)上，考試并不能測(cè)試我們所知道的東西，而是我們記得的。一個(gè)記憶好的學(xué)生很容易在考試前死記硬背下所有的知識(shí)點(diǎn)。就這種意義來(lái)說(shuō)，這對(duì)學(xué)得很辛苦的學(xué)生來(lái)說(shuō)是很不公平的。但沒(méi)人能夠從始至終都表現(xiàn)得很好的，考試也不例外。意想不到的事情總會(huì)發(fā)生，例如突然的頭痛會(huì)影響結(jié)果，然后學(xué)生可能就會(huì)失利。

Iwould like to put forward my heart-felt proposal that one day some morescientific and humanized method will replace the old tradition. With effortsfrom educationists and other related professionals, hopefully, it will notremain a dream only.

我衷心地提議，有一天通過(guò)教育者和相關(guān)人士的努力，會(huì)有更加科學(xué)，更加人性化的模式來(lái)替代這種舊傳統(tǒng)。希望這不會(huì)只是一個(gè)夢(mèng)想。
